Love a good decoupage project! Old sewing patterns aged with a little paint is a favorite of mine for covering up a bad paint job. I have been having trouble with comments. Spin the wheel and see if this gets through.
Its gotten through - most of my paint jobs are "bad" paint jobs. Good thing I am not to fussy. I never considered sewing patterns. I see them everywhere.
It looks wonderful! What do you use to protect the papers after you've applied them? Regular old varnish? I'm sure there's probably something much better available now - it's been years since I've done it. 😬
Are you painting or staining or something?
ReplyDeleteI painted the piece, decoupaged the old papers on and got some new hardware. His Lordship and I picked this up for 15.00 bucks from a neighbor.
DeleteOh, decoupage! What a great idea! And wow, $15 bucks -- good deal!

DeleteLove the look of old newspapers, if you're going to have an obsession, you picked a good one.
ReplyDeleteI just have a lot of volumes from between 1910 and 1926.
DeleteGreat reuse of old newspapers (which you know I'm a fan of).
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome we did something similar with sheet music.
ReplyDeleteTons of fun and so forgiving!
DeleteWhoever left the last comment I deleted it by accident so please write it again.

modge podge makes a hard coat protector that assures me you can clean it with a cloth once it cures. We will see!
