For my last Halloween post, I will honor the Great Pumpkin Project. On Monday, a friend and I drove to the town of Victor to leave some pumpkins.
Victor is a creepy old place with lots of abandoned mines, an active mine and late 1800's buildings, perfect for covert pumpkin operations. If your not familar, the Great Pumpkin Project started as a blog back in 2015. The original idea was to leave a pumpkin every night of October in a creepy location with a Great Pumpkin Project Tag. I am just too busy to do every night or even every year. But this year just felt right.
We left at 4 in the afternoon which was probably too early as it was light till after 6. Our first stop was to visit Victor's troll, who is named Rita the Rock Planter.
We thought a pumpkin would look great left there.
In the end however, we moved it to a sheltered location because of predicted high winds.
The second location was another bunch of derelict old structures leftover from mining. The pumpkin was a flame and witch carved by my friends spouse. The design got a little battered by the car ride.
Lastly we left a pumpkin at The Black Monarch, a haunted boutique hotel. They had a coffin prop just perfect for the occasion.
All pictures taken by my friend except the fourth one. Thank you all for hanging with me this holiday season and to Dex for hosting the Countdown to Halloween.
Love it! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
