Today I start a five day stint as a cat sitter for Baby M. It also happens to be October 13, the day of the Kagurazaka cat festival in Tokyo. This district, a historical Geisha stronghold, hosts a unique parade in which everyone must be dressed as a cat. I found some fun images online so take a look.

Now that's MY idea of a fun parade! I know there's a temple in Tokyo dedicated entirely to cats -- I wonder if it's in this district too? Alas, the Cat Temple was not part of our tour itinerary when we visited Tokyo. I wish it had been!
ReplyDeleteYou have been to Tokyo? How cool. Do you have a blog post about your trip in your archives? I would love to see it.
DeleteJamie: Love the cat disguises!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute aren't they?
DeleteAnother purr-fect excuse to visit Japan! Hopefully I'll get there someday!
ReplyDeleteHee hee cute pun
DeleteI take care of 25 mostly rescued cats in my house, plus an additional five semi-ferals that live in the neighborhood. It's a full time job (on top of my full-time). Occasionally they get on my nerves but overwhelmingly they just bring joy and comfort.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of people get comfort and joy from cats
DeleteCute little kitties.
