The Haunting of South Park City

Some friends joined his Lordship and I for a Lantern Tour of the South Park City Museum in Fairplay Colorado. As you can see, we dressed in period costume.  The guides, Susan and Bill, covered city history, local legends, the hauntings in the museum, Victorian death culture and the hazards of mining in two hours.
Our guide Susan
We toured the most haunted buildings and the fake mine.  This is a picture of the Summer brewery, where the ghost of Leonhard Summer is said to be heard and seen walking through his brewery.
We also visited the Undertakers, Leonhard Summers residence, the Summer Saloon and the carriage house to see the hearse.  Here is a video that the Museum has put together explaining the life and death of Leonhard Summer and the hauntings.

It was a cool evening without any wind and an almost full moon.  Perfect for a ghost tour.

Need more Halloween.  Head on over to the Countdown.

  1. What a cool ghost tour! Even better that you and your friends dressed the part! Victorian death culture has always creeped me out.
