Skeletons After Dark

I dragged his Lordship out of bed at 5:00 am so we could go photograph some of the skeletons that are a challenge because of the window glare.  Isn't he lucky to be married to me??  Below we have the Hocus Pocus trio at Mountain West.  This is just a lovely display with lots of details.

Cherokees has this Eerie skeleton with a wheel of cheese - they sell cheese there.
and a dragon which they do not sell.

Barn+swallow has this skeleton with another Hocus Pocus theme.
Anna's Apothecary has this winged specter.
Mountain  High Sportswear has this skeleton on a bike with a backstory about how his brakes have failed.
Southwest Silver has a skeleton surrounded by Crystal balls and skulls

Darpino Gallery has this house hippo riding skeleton.  I think someone has lost a hand.  The owner explained to us that it was the mailman!

It really is a great experience walking around town in the wee hours of the morning.  So quiet and dark you can almost hear the ghosts.

Countdown to Halloween is winding down.  Head over to check out the fun blogs.

  1. Awesome displays, especially the first one, which is full of interesting little details when you blow up the picture to full size. Thanks to both of you for braving the cold to photograph these properly.

  2. What a great idea to minimize window glass glare by photographing the displays at night! My fave is the skelly with the big wheel of cheese. The crowning glory of that display is the rat skelly perched on top!
