Today the Emma Crawford Coffin Races returned for the first time in 2 years and of course I was off to the races darling!
It was a spectacular event with lots of costumes, a parade, a coffin race and a party in the park.Awards were given for the best coffin, best Emma, and best entourage. Plus, first, second and third place were awarded for the 3 fastest times. Finally the battle for the coffin cup was run to between the winner of Emma Crawford Coffin Race and the Frozen Dead Guys Days in Nederland.
The first place winners were Manitou's own Border Burger Bar with a great time of 25.4 seconds.
In second place, with a time of 27 seconds were Farley's Boys from local eatery Adams Mountain Cafe', one of my favorite restaurants with lots of wonderful vegan dishes on offer. They were our past winners in 2019.
Third place went to the team Nauti, who won the frozen dead guy competition last March in Nederland. As for coffins, Emmas and entourages, those are posts for another day.
Not scared yet? Head to countdown to Halloween for more spooky season reading.
The Border Burger Bar's skull coffin rocks -- love those glowing red eyes! But it must be very aerodynamic and light for them to have won!
ReplyDeleteWell I think they also recruited to entire UCCS track team to push for them. Their four runners were tall, lean and youthful.
DeleteYou and the racers look spootacular, Lady M!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom
Delete25.4 seconds? What distance was covered?
ReplyDeleteIt's 195 yards 4 runners pushing a coffin with an Emma inside running uphill.
DeleteThis looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is lots of fun.
DeleteYou are rocking that purple eye shadow.
ReplyDeleteI got it from NYX - it is a paste and goes on old wrinkly eyes like a dream. Super easy to blend too.
