Sigh - Sorry to neglect you blog readers. I have started this post multiple times only to find it morphing into a Debbie Downer. 2021 has been a hard year.
Hence I will just share a few pictures and keep my dark thoughts to myself as to not depress you. I hope someday to find my way out of this funk.
Baby M is getting married in October and we have been working on some Centerpieces for the tables.
We found lanterns, doilies and candles in various thrift and antique stores. The flowers and a couple of the lanterns came from Michaels. Everything that was not black was dyed or painted.
I have safely stored them for October to keep them dust and animal hair free.
Sorry to hear you're in a FUNK! I hope your spirits rise soon. As in emotions, not ghosts. Anyway, those lanterns are super!
ReplyDeleteThanks - the flowers are a wee bit fragile. I hope the guest don't pick at them.
DeleteHope you feel better. Those centerpieces look great!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I think as the weather brightens up and I can get into the garden more, I will feel less blah.
DeleteIs Baby M getting married on Oct. 31st?
ReplyDeleteNope - October 15 but it is still an excuse for gothic nuptials.
DeleteThe lantern centerpieces look fantastic. There's a recent NY Times article on the "dominant emotion of 2021", languishing. Hopefully, with things to look forward to, we can all break this funk. Once again want to thank you for sharing the "Profit" video. We grew up in that same era, and that video appears to have been the predecessor/inspiration for several early SNL skits, such as "You Win A Dollar".
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you watched Steve. I left him up for a good long time because I think that little movie is good fun.
DeleteHang in there. Brighter days are on the way (ie: Halloween).
ReplyDeleteUggh - just heard the depressing report about how the new variants of covid are running rampant in Canada.
DeleteI really like those lanterns. I had one like that in my office but it stopped working. I want to get a higher quality one like yours.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the heavy darkness.
May things ease for you and yours.
Hope things are better. You blogged on my birthday.
