Creepmas Day 4: A Bit of Light Entertainment
Freshman year at University my daughter took two semesters of Swedish as her language. At the end of the first semester, the instructor showed the class the film "Rare Exports". Naturally, she came home at the holiday break and shared it with her old momma. It is a freaky film from Finland about a greedy entrepreneur who starts digging up a huge burial mound and in it, he finds an army of Santa's. Not nice, jolly ho, ho, ho Santa's, but evil primal beings whose sole purpose is to put children in sacks and take them away. It was a surprisingly good film with plenty of creepy bits. The end is very amusing. I would recommend looking for it this Holiday season.

Mom - I only took one semester of Swedish and it wasn't an army of Santas, it was an army of his elves and there was only one Santa who was like a Pagan god.
ReplyDeleteWow - I am so glad my faulty memory had brought you out of the woodwork and onto the blog. Welcome back to the parlor, my little pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, I love this movie! I watch it every Yule, but I had forgotten about it this year - until now- Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! I would like to see it again too as I obviously don't remember it that well.
