Well it has come to this - I must break up with Google because they are kissing maggot butt and I can't stand it. I already gave Meta the boot. Google has its greedy hands on everything I do. Remember when they were cool? You could hit I feel lucky and a funny anecdote about George W. Bush would come up. Not anymore.
It is hard to do - I have been using this platform since 2011 and am really familiar with it. His Lordship just got me a google phone so you can imagine the nightmare that presents. Still there are alternatives to everything google offers so it is just a matter of learning new programs. It is good for the brain or so I keep telling myself. Anyhow, I have launched a prototype over at word press - https://ladymshauntedparlor.wordpress.com/. See if you can interact and give me a little feedback. I will leave this up as an archive for awhile if you want to talk here. Love and kisses to my lovely readers.
I understand WordPress has a very good support team to help people publish on its blog platform, so hopefully you can transition without too much difficulty! I'm going over now to check out your new digs!
ReplyDeleteI am struggling but I know I can do it. I have found the help pages somewhat useful but the template is not nearly as intuitive as bloggers.
DeleteChecked out your WordPress page and left you a comment, unfortunately wasn't thinking in regards to not being "logged into the platform" and it was left as an anonymous comment. Also did a "Lady M's Haunted Parlor" search on Google and Bing, and while your new WordPress address did not come up on the first page of search results for Google, it did show up on the first page of search results for Bing. There may be a setting in Blogger that can automatically redirect your Blogger traffic over to your new WordPress address, something you may want to look into. Also if you want to go to a different email platform other than Google Gmail, checkout Proton Mail (https://proton.me/mail) which is based out of Switzerland and follows EU privacy guidelines.
ReplyDeleteYou're anonymous! I actually changed from gmail to mail fence which I think is also European and follows Europe privacy guidelines. Good idea about the traffic redirection. I will have to look into that. Thanks for all your feedback. I am fairly technology challenged so this has all taken me awhile.
