More Garden Shots

Garden centers around me have been having some great sales.  So I took the opportunity to get some really lovely black Huecheras. These are called Black Carnival and I think the dark foliage blends beautifully with the blue green lambs ears.

My black petunias have started blooming in the cauldron again after a long sleepy hiatus.

The other day I was hand watering and this lovely lady popped up.

In case you can't see her

  1. The mantis was praying for you to quit dumping water on her head.

    1. Yep - that was about the size of it. She was pretty disgusted with me. I think she came out to dry off in the sun.

  2. Cool! I've never seen a praying mantis in real life. I don't think we have them this far north.

    1. I get one in every garden I have ever had after my organic gardening techniques have been in place for a few years.

  3. So I guess the praying mantis didn't see the sign at the beginning?

    1. She is a welcome guest at all time. That applies to only human trespassers. Actually I am going to pay good money to be composted when I die so I consider it a service.

  5. Thank you - most everything will keep going here until the first snow in October - usually around Halloween.
