So the spooky aesthetic seems to be coming to mainstream marketing everywhere. Case in point - Home Depot where one simple search for the word skull leads to all sorts of home items for those of us who like things darker.
Just look at this fire pits skull emsemble. Fire pits are not something we can do here most of the time in Colorado but if you could, fun.
They sell skull wallpaper.
and Throws
and Sheet Sets
In fact they have 275 items that come up when searching the word skull and many are not Halloween related. Just freaky!
Jamie here--This is amazing. I now expect to see Halloween stuff in stores beginning in July.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't even Halloween - it is just everyday stuff for the everyday goth.
DeleteYowza!
ReplyDeleteIs that a good yowza or a bad yowza??
DeleteIt's fascinating that there's a big enough market for these items that they do sell them. I would never have imagined that skull wallpaper would be at all in demand, for example. It's too bad you can't track products by who buys them -- you might find a few like-minded people out there.
ReplyDeleteYou should see the stuff that come across my Instagram feed. There are indeed Goths who decorate the whole house black.
DeleteSo how many have you ordered so far?
ReplyDeleteHa - none. His Lordship does not want a gothic house. He tolerates it from the beginning of Sept to the end of October with a few glimmers at Creepmas. But as much as I would love to put up skull wallpaper my marriage is more important.
DeleteSkulls rule. It's nice other people are discovering it. We have a lot of skull stuff around the house, but I can't say that we've gotten them in mainstream store. Best keep my eyes open.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have seen on my instagram feed, fine Halloween stuff is appearing nationwide.
