We brought a new house back in May and spent the summer moving and selling our existing home. Our primary motivation was a flat lot and a fireplace. But we got more in the new place - oh so much more. Like a leaking roof over the pantry and drywall damage. The sellers did not disclose anything but I fail to see how they missed it. It looks like it has been going on for years. Did they just think water all over the pantry floor after a heavy rain was normal??
Plus we had water gurgling up out of the drain in the basement. Then the freezer line was blocked and water puddled on the kitchen floor. After that, we discovered the kitchen faucet is faulty, leaking water in the cabinet under the kitchen sink that ran onto the floor. Oh what have I done to offend the water Gods? Does anyone have a sacrifice idea that will appease them? This house was inspected and they missed all these issues.
Anyway, we have had the the drywall removed from the pantry - after I spent ages repainting! Arrgh! Plus I have company coming in a month and the contents of the pantry are spewn all over the kitchen and dining room. This really is a house of horrors.
