      Well the Stanley hotel was Stephen King's inspiration but the film was not made there so you are safe to step foot in it. When are you coming to Colorado? I have always wanted to stay there myself.

    Be cool to get a photo in front of the Stanley Hotel! I didn't know that was in Colorado, for some reason I thought it was in Vermont?

      The Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood in Oregon was used as the exterior for the hotel in the movie. But the Stanley Hotel was the inspiration for the book and the overlook hotel.
