Garden centers around me have been having some great sales. So I took the opportunity to get some really lovely black Huecheras. These are called Black Carnival and I think the dark foliage blends beautifully with the blue green lambs ears.
My black petunias have started blooming in the cauldron again after a long sleepy hiatus.
The other day I was hand watering and this lovely lady popped up.
The mantis was praying for you to quit dumping water on her head.
ReplyDeleteYep - that was about the size of it. She was pretty disgusted with me. I think she came out to dry off in the sun.
DeleteCool! I've never seen a praying mantis in real life. I don't think we have them this far north.
ReplyDeleteI get one in every garden I have ever had after my organic gardening techniques have been in place for a few years.
DeleteSo I guess the praying mantis didn't see the sign at the beginning?
ReplyDeleteShe is a welcome guest at all time. That applies to only human trespassers. Actually I am going to pay good money to be composted when I die so I consider it a service.
Deletesuch a great garden! wish I had your green thumb, the only thing we can get to work now in the later months are mums.
ReplyDeleteThank you - most everything will keep going here until the first snow in October - usually around Halloween.
