Whoa, these are as bad as some of those horrific vintage bunny photos with the crying children I've seen floating around FB the past few weeks! Who knew bunnies were so demonic. I thought it was just goats.
We had a bunny who was demonic so It does not surprise me. I think bunnies tried a to change their image in the last 100 years starting with Beatrix Potter to hide a much darker side of their character.
Well I definitely don't get the whole "God died for our sins despite the fact that he is immortal and can't die" thing. But I kind of like chicks and daffodils.
There are some really amusing (and sometimes rather "disturbing" images in the margins of these "illuminated" texts. Reminds us of the way that Mad magazine had little illustrated cartoons in the same places.
They hung the dog?! What is going on here?! Head chopping, eye gouging, man-snail riding? What kind of freaks are these rabbits?!
ReplyDeleteThis explains that killer bunny that appears in the Holy Grail movie, doesn't it?

DeleteThese are too funny! Clearly the monks who drew these images were forerunners of Monty Python and their Killer Rabbit!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteI like these, I don't much like Easter.
