Dollar Store Makeover

I picked up a couple of little skulls at the Dollar Tree.  They are super cheap and so poorly made but I liked the fact that they are on stands and heck, for $2.00 they were worth a shot.  However, a paint job is certainly in order

I primed them first.

Then black chalk painted the whole thing.

Dry brushed Gray, a glitter paint and two kinds of gold.  I think the effect is kind of an aged, organic look. 

 

 

The antique stall I went to a while ago also did a make over of the same skull.  Theirs are fabulous.  Think I might give this a go for next year's haunt.
