Almost Missed Oct. 1

His Lordship and I have been away, you see, in search of fall color.  Firstly, we camped at the Kebler pass, which is the epitome of amazing fall color here in Colorado.  Photographers come from all over the world to capture these mountains. The aspens did not disappoint this year and the Ruby Anthracite mountains are just incredible every year.

But the weather, not so much.  After being rained on for two days in a row with standing water in our campground and ice on our tent, we said goodbye to the beautiful Lost Lake Campground and headed to what we thought was drier ground (according to a flawed weather forecast).

Hence, we discovered the adorable O'Haver Lake Campground just south of Poncha Springs.

Things were looking good until about 5 when the cloud burst and it pretty much rained all evening.  Anyhow, glad to be back in the haunted parlor where it only rains in the back pantry.
